Antonio Neri, who has been the CEO of HPE for one and a half years, considers the illustrious background of his company as well as the very human difficulty of refocusing a $29 billion company.
In his own words, Antonio Neri loves to identify as "an engineer by trade." Neri is a sort of local hero inside HPE, a man of the people who started in HP tech support about 25 years ago and prospered as a technologist and dealmaker. He is the first employee of the Hewlett Packard enterprise to be elevated up the ranks to CEO since Lew Platt in 1992. After a little more than a year in his position as Meg Whitman's successor, Neri already possesses an engineer's level of knowledge of HPE's broad range of data center products.
Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Neri has created a thorough technical vision for HPE that emphasizes edge computing and composable infrastructure. His lengthy stay has, however, also given him insight into the workings of a recently divided firm, as well as how to keep HPE's 66,000 employees inspired and inventive after years of upheaval. Few CEOs ever face a management challenge of this magnitude.
“A huge wager has been placed on shifting to a "Everything as a Service" paradigm by 2022 by HPE CEO Antonio Neri. It is a brave step for enterprise IT to disrupt its long-standing, hardware-based sales model and transition to a wholly services-led corporation. Neri's engineering training, client-focused philosophy, and significant acquisitions placed HPE ahead of the competition. Jo Peterson, from Clarify 360”
Additionally, he follows the customer-centric ethos that is shared by the majority of CEOs in Silicon Valley. The customer is at the heart of all we do, he says, which was something he discovered early in his career. However, partners also have a particular place in the firm: "Remember, this company has a partner-centric, go-to-market-led model, so 70% of our business is done through our channel."
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) President and CEO Antonio Neri is in charge of overseeing the creation and implementation of enterprise technology solutions and services that assist businesses in accelerating business outcomes by maximizing the potential of all of their data, everywhere.
Antonio has used his extensive experience as a business executive and technologist since he was appointed CEO in February 2018 to develop HPE into a leading edge-to-cloud company. Leading breakthroughs including HPE GreenLake, the business's unified, automated, and secure hybrid-cloud experience, and Frontier, the first supercomputer to breach the exascale speed barrier, were introduced under his leadership.
